First Partial Solar Eclipse of 2019 witnessed today
Bhubaneswar: The first Partial Solar Eclipse of 2019 was witnessed in different parts of Asia and over the Pacific Ocean on Sunday.
However, the partial solar eclipse was not visible in India. Besides, 2019 will also view Super Blood Moon Wolf Eclipse on January 20-21.
“As the alignment between the Sun and the Moon was not very exact, the Moon did not cover the Sun completely resulting in a partial eclipse,” said Dr Subhendu Pattnaik, Deputy Director of Pathani Samanta Planetarium.
As per sources, the eclipse was visible in parts of North-East Asia and the Pacific Ocean, including China, part of Siberia in Russia, Korean peninsula, North Antarctica, and part of Japan between 5 am and continued till 8:18 am.
The next Partial Solar Eclipse will be witnessed on April 30, 2022.
