Mumbai: The makers of most anticipated movie Uri, have released the first look of the lead actress of the movie, Yami Gautam on Tuesday.
Yami will be seen as an intelligence officer in the movie, which is based on the real-life incident of the Indian Army’s surgical strike across LOC.
According to reports, it is believed that Yami drew inspiration from two women Punita Arora – the first woman in India to become a Lt. General in the Indian Army – and Priya Jhingan, who requested the then Army Chief in 1992 to be accepted as a woman cadet and a year later became the first Indian woman to have joined the Army.
Directed and written by Aditya Dhal, the flick also features Vicky Kaushal, Kirti Kulhari and Paresh Rawal in the lead roles. The movie is slated to hit the screens on January 11, next year.
