Bhubaneswar: A preparatory meet on the famous Bali yatra was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Cuttack District Collector.
Speaking to newsmen after the meet, Collector ensured that fire fighting measures will be given adequate importance during the festival.
The stalls which will have no fire fighting equipments will not be allowed to open. Besides Odia name plates would be mandatory for labeling all stalls, he said.
Meanwhile discouraging the use of polythene bags the Collector said “the festival is one of the most famous event in the country and eco friendly measures to keep clean environment conditions during the festival is of prime importance so polythene bags will not be used in the festival and anyone violating the norms would be dealt with punishment.”
“Similarly, the ones who are found breaching legal ways to get electric connection would also be punished.” he added.
Lodging complaints on any irregularities found during the festival has become easier with the administration enabling a ‘whatsApp’ feature for the people to file their grievances, the Collector said.
Similarly, the rent for setting up stalls in the festival is the same like last year at around Rs. 22 per sq ft.
