Fire at BPCL unit in Mumbai, many injured
Mumbai: A massive blast and fire broke out at the main refinery complex of BPCL in Mahul, Mumbai on Wednesday afternoon.
The blast was so massive that the shock waves shook the glass panes windows of residential buildings four km away. Residents around the area said that it felt like an earthquake.
A total of 41 people have been injured in the blast and fire. While 22 persons are being treated at BPCL medical centre, remaining 19 people are undergoing treatment at Sushrut Hospital, Chembur.
The fire department reported a level 3 fire call. Seven fire engines, two foam tenders and two jumbo tankers were rushed to the refinery complex, informed a fir official.
