EOW arrests one more fraudster in Cuttack Allahabad bank fraud case
Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) today arrested a man for allegedly availing loan from Allahabad Bank, Nayasarak branch, Cuttack furnishing forged documents.
The arrested has been identified as Bijay Kumar Nayak of Puran village under Salepur police limits in Cuttack district.
According to EOW, As many as 85 loanees had availed loan to the tune of Rs 2.26 crore fraudulently under Sarala Loan Scheme from the bank during the period from December 2009 to March 2010 producing false documents.
Pranab Kumar Ray, Senior Manager of the bank had lodged a complaint in this regard. Investigation revealed that Bijay had availed Rs 3 lakh by impersonating himself as Junior Engineer (Civil) in the office of Chief Engineer, Drainage, Gandarpur, Cuttack.
Police registered a case against him and arrested him today. He will be produced before the SDJM court, Cuttack.
Earlier 23 other accused persons have been arrested and forwarded to the court.
