Emraan Hashmi-starrer Cheat India gets a new title; ‘Why Cheat India’
Mumbai: With just a week left for its release Emraan Hashmi-starrer Cheat India has been renamed as Why Cheat India following an objection by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The move came after the CBFC objected to the title on the grounds of it being misleading.
The producers, T-Series Films, Ellipsis Entertainment and Emraan Hashmi Films confirmed the new title of their film in a statement. The statement also mentioned the fact that the makers agreed on the new title mutually due to lack of time.
Emraan Hashmi dropped the new title and poster on his social media profile.

In the film, Emraan will be seen playing a fraud, who bends the rule in his favour without any moral obligations or rather dilemma. Apart from Emraan, the flick also features Shreya Dhanwanthary in the lead role.
The film, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Tanuj Garg, Atul Khasbekar and Parveen Hashmi, is slated to hit the screens on January 18.
