Elephant tramples man to death in Boudh village
Boudh: In yet another incident of human-elephant conflict, a man was trampled to death by a wild elephant under Kantamal Forest Range in Boudh district on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Bharat Bagarty of Palasapadar village.
According to reports, the victim encountered a pachyderm early in the morning while he was on his way to a crop field to attend nature’s call. He tried to escape after spotted the jumbo which had sneaked into the crop field in search of food last night. However, the elephant attacked him and trampled to death.
The body was later recovered by forest officials and his family members. Police sent the body for autopsy and launched an investigation.
