DRI seizes drugs worth Rs 3000 Crore: Bollywood producer alleged mastermind


New Delhi:  In one of the largest drug hauls, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Wednesday has seized 23.5 metric tonnes of methaqualone tablets (Mandrax) from Udaipur, Rajasthan. Its market price is pegged to be Rs 3000 crore. Bollywood produce considered to be the master mind of the syndicate Subash Dudhani has been arrested in this connection.

This is the largest drug seizure of methaqualone not only in India but also in the world. DRI officials raided the premises of Udaipur-based Marudhar drinks and detected a hidden room which was full of cartons of Mandrax tablets. Now police has initiated the search operation to nab others who are involved with the syndicate.

In last 5 years, the DRI has seized more than 540 Kgs of heroin and 7,409kgs of ephedrine along with other Narcotics and Psychotropic substances.
