DRG jawan injured in Narayanpur encounter succumbs

Narayanpur: A security personnel who was injured in Narayanpur encounter between Naxals and security forces on Saturday has reportedly sucumbbed to his injuries today.

Notably, on Saturday, a team of District Reserve Guards (DRG) jawans following a tip-off about a Maoist training camp in the interior forest of Orchha, about 350 km from Raipur, conducted a search operation. Meanwhile, an exchange of fire took place after the Ultras opened fire on them.

In the gunfight, five Naxals were gunned down while one security personnel sustained bullet injuries.

The injured jawan after being treated with first aid at the camp was admitted to the hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment today.
