Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government appointed space scientist Dr Susmita Mohanty as chairperson of ‘Mo School’ programme.
Announcing this, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said Susmita is an example of what every Odia girl and boy can aspire and achieve given the right support. “With the ‘Mo School’ initiative, the futuristic and dynamic potential of young children will find greater heights, even sky will not be the limit for the children of Odisha,” he said.
Mohanty is the Co-Founder and CEO of Earth2Orbit, a spaceship designer and serial space entrepreneur.
Susmita, who was born in Cuttack, has featured among 100 young innovators in the world and featured on the cover page of Fortune Magazine. She has launched various space start-ups across the world and addressed the World Economic Forum, International Academy of Astronauts and United Nations.
Notably, the ‘Mo School’ campaign was launched by Naveen on Children’s Day this year with an aim to promote volunteerism among people to work for the development of schools in which they studied or any school in the State.
