Khurda: Carcass of a dolphin was found floating in Chilika lake near Mahisa village today morning and recovered by the forest department officials.
The 12-feet long Irrawaddy dolphin aged about 10-year-old was found floating in the lake this morning. On sighting, the dolphin’s carcass, the locals informed the Forest department officials.
The officials then retrieved the dead dolphin and took it to Satapara range office with the help of a speedboat.
The officials have also launched a probe to ascertain the actual cause behind the death of the dolphin, said a source.
