Mumbai: Veteran actor Dilip Kumar who was rushed to the Leelavati Hospital here on Wednesday morning has tweeted he is ‘feeling better’ while wife Saira Banu has confirmed that he is recovering well on Thursday. He was admitted to hospital after he complained of high fever and swelling in his right leg.
Saira accompanied him and wishes to take him back home before Sunday, so as to celebrate his 94th birthday on December 11. As per reports, the actor is now under observation. It is for the second time that the actor has been hospitalized this year. Earlier on April 16, he was admitted to the same Mumbai hospital after complaining of respiratory problems, when he was visited by actors like Aamir Khan. The doctors discharged him after ensuring his health was stable on April 21. He has been in and out of hospital over the last two years.
The actor was born as Mohammad Yusuf Khan but adopted Dilip Kumar as his screen name. He was last seen in the film “Qila” in 1998.The actor was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2015.
