Bhubaneswar: Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has urged Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to expedite allotment of land and other infrastructure for setting up of multiple projects of Petroleum ministry.
In the letter, Pradhan mentioned that IOCL is about to finalise almost Rs 40,000 crore investments in new projects in Odisha– a PX/PTA project, Petcoke gasification-based projects and Refinery capacity expansion project at Paradip, besides participation in the Textile Park proposed at Bhadrak.
The Union Minister also mentioned in the letter about planning by Taiwan’s state-owned petroleum firm CPC Corporation for investing Rs 43,000 crore for green-field petrochemical projects in Paradip.
Pradhan also stated that the proposed investments by CPC and Indian Oil would not only contribute to Odisha’s economy but also lead to direct and indirect employment generation for the youths.
Pradhan requested the chief minister to direct the concerned authorities in this regard so that the projects become functional soon.
