Bhubaneswar: While the second phase polling in Odisha is underway, delayed voting have been reported from various booths across the state due to technical glitches in EVMs.
Glitches in EVM have been reported from the booths in Loisinga, Kurei, and Alagalpur in Bolangir. Polling has also been delayed in as many as 70 booths of Sundergarh over EVM glitches.
Similarly, EVM glitches have also been reported from two booths (Booth No. 113 and 101) in Phulbani, Booth no. 179 in G. Udaygiri in Baliguda, Booth no. 54 in Mahasingh of Baliguda, Booth no. 67 in Kantabanjhi, Booth no. 204 & 205 in Sagarpalli of Sonepur district.
Issues in EVM has also been reported from many booths in Sundergarh Sadar and Talasara area (booth no. 171, Talsara’s booth no. 206). Booth no. 26 in Jahada in Dharakot of Aska also faced EVM error.
Delay in polling has also been reported from at least six booths in Bonai. Booths in Kendudihi, Fakirmunda, Chidakuda, Talata, Usukula, and Khalasaghat in Sundargarh reported EVM glitches. Voting in Titlagarh will commence after the installment of new EVMs.
Following these reports, tension prevailed at polling booths in the area as voters expressed their displeasure due to the hours of delay.
Reportedly, some voters have boycotted polling in two booths of Loisinga alleging far distance of polling booths from their villages.
