Dama’s allegations fruitless, ridiculous: Naveen
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday termed the allegations made by expelled Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader and former minister Damodar Rout as ‘ridiculous’.
“Dama babu always makes irresponsible statements. His allegations are fruitless and ridiculous,” the CM told the media at the Naveen Niwas today after his return from New Delhi.
The reactions of the CM came a day after he expelled Rout from the BJD for allegedly indulging in anti-party activities.
Speaking on the speculation that Dama along with some other ousted BJD leaders might form a new political party in the state ahead of the 2019 general and assembly election, Patnaik said, “It was their business. It will not have any impact on Odisha politics.”
Naveen had expelled Dama from the party, during his three-day visit to New Delhi, after a section of BJD leaders from Jagatsinghpur (Dama’s home district) brought allegations that the Paradip MLA was involved in anti-party activities.
On the other hand, Dama criticised the CM saying that he had never requested Naveen to induct him in the party. Rather he was invited to join the regional party.
