Cuttack: The State Vigilance on Tuesday traced over Rs 1 crore worth assets of Chief Engineer, Rengali Irrigation Project in Angul district.
Basing on the allegation of acquisition of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Chief Engineer Gunadhar Mishra, the Vigilance raided his houses and office, including his residential house at Borapada Khamar, Dhenkanal, paternal house at Kalingapala, Rasol, Dhenkanal, father-in-law’s house at Ratna Bazar, Dhenkanal and office room and Government residential quarters at Rengali, Samal, Angul on Tuesday.
The assets found were a triple storied building at Dhenkanal Town of Rs 97, 79, 124, a land at Mouza Daruthenga, Bhubaneswar of Rs 36, 00,000, deposit in different banks and LIC of Rs 10, 14, 000, one Maruti Swift car of Rs 5, 85, 000, one Hero Karizma motor cycle of Rs 60, 000, one Bajaj Pulsar motor cycle of Rs 1, 00, 000, household articles of Rs 3, 29, 865, gold ornaments weighing 315 gms of Rs 8, 00, 000, silver ornaments weighing 451 gms of Rs 20, 000 and hard cash of Rs 1, 79, 000. His total assets are worth Rs 1, 29,02, 989.
His deposits in different nationalized/private banks, post office, immovable assets in different towns, bank locker, etc. were being verified to unearth more properties. The inquiry was on.
