CP conducts special drive against criminals


Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate of Police (CP) conducted a special drive under all the police stations in the twin city of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack from October 9 to 12 for execution of non-bailable warrants and prosecution of habitual offenders.

The drive was carried out as per the instruction of twin city Police Commissioner.

Evening and night blockings were conducted in which 188 offenders including drunken driving have been booked under relevant Sections of the IPC.

Besides, 44 non-bailable warrants were executed while 15 habitual offenders were booked under the Commissionerate of Police area.

While 37 excise cases were detected within the area, a fine of Rs 5,10,150 has been collected from motor vehicles offenders.

A total of 268 non-bailable warrants have been executed and 101 habitual offenders/ criminals have been booked under relevant Sections of the IPC.

The CP directed all inspector-in-charge of police stations and zonal ACPs under the twin city to continue the drive till the festival season is over.
