Country-made liquor seized in Odisha-Chhattisgarh border, 6 held
Nabarangpur: Odisha Excise department along with their Chhattisgarh counterparts seized over 80 litres of country-made liquor during a raid on the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border and arrested six persons in this connection.
The seizures came ahead of the general elections in the state.
The accused persons have been identified as Nihansingh Muria of Limbiguda village, Kuguru Jani of Jajiguda village, Ananta Utra of Kodigaon area, Salim Gouda of Taraguda area, Chama Bisoi of Saraladhanua area and Padma Jani of Tumbala village.
Following the directions of Nabarangpur Collector Dr Ajit Kumar Mishra, the state excise officials conducted a joint raid with Chhattisgarh counterparts in the border areas. During the raid, around 87 litres of spurious liquor was seized.
A case has been registered against the arrested persons and forwarded to the court, sources in the police said.
