Cops nab two in Angul bank robbery case from Bihar
Angul: Angul police on Tuesday night arrested two persons in connection with the robbery at an Indian Bank branch in the district on July 7.
The accused were identified as Om Prakash Das and Rajesh Das of Gaya district in Bihar. The police seized 343 gram of gold and arms and ammunition from their possession.
According to sources, the accused duo stormed the Indian Bank branch on July 7 and looted cash and gold ornaments after keeping the bank employees at gunpoint.
The police had formed a special team and launched a manhunt to nab the culprits. The special team conducted raids at different places and arrested the accused.
During interrogation, the accused confessed that they have looted at least 13 banks in last 10 years.
The accused were produced before the court of the sub-divisional judicial magistrate (SDJM) at Sherghati in Gaya district of Bihar today.
