Congress activists show black flag to Union Minister Girija Singh


Bhubaneswar: Members of Congress youth wing on Saturday protested Union Minister of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Girija Singh’s controversial statements towards Jawaharlal Nehru showing him black during his visit to the Central Tool Room and Training Centre here.

Girija Singh who is on a two day tour to the State gave some highly controversial statements against former Prime Minister Nehru blaming him for faulty educational policies.

While inaugurating the two day national conference on “Youth and Employment: The Role of Skill India Initiative” here in the city Singh said Nehru’s policies made the country population only educated but not skilled enough.

He claimed that while other developing countries have more than 90 per cent skilled force India has got only a paltry 2.5 per cent. The government is streamlining policies for the development of skill sector on a priority basis, he added.

His burning comments out sparked huge controversy in the state with the Congress openly criticizing him for his derisiveness.
