Bhubaneswar: Utkal University opens today as authorities decided to lift sine die which was imposed in the campus ahead of students’ union poll.
Adequate police force to be deployed if needed says police Commissioner YB Khurania after discussing with the university authorities at the Commissionerate police headquarters here yesterday.
The classes have started after lifting the sine die, informed PG Council Chairman Brahmananda Satpathy.
According to reports, the students entered the varsity through the main gate with their identity cards and the security forces checked the students’ identity cards. However, there will be no restriction for the students staying in the hostels inside the university campus.
Notably, Utkal University was closed due to sine die on September 18 following violence inside the campus ahead of the students’ union elections.
