Bhubaneswar: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday assured all possible assistance from Centre on the high profile Chitrakonda anti-naxal operations carried out by a joint operation by Odisha-Andhra police forces on Monday night.
Singh talked with Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik on phone and assured all help to see out the extremists.
Earlier on Monday as many as 27 rebels were killed in the joint operation in the highly cut off Chitrakonda area in Malkangiri district along the state border.
Top Mao leaders like central committee member G Ramakrishna’s son Sivaji, Ganesh, Daya among others were killed during an exchange of fires.
Acting on a tip off police attacked them at their base camp in the area where at least 50 extremists had encamped for a meeting.
During search operations Police also seized four AK-47s, three SLRs, and ten 303 rifles.
