Chill to continue in State till Nov 12, says IMD


Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday said low temperatures and cool winds from north will continue to shiver state till November 12.

Since the seasons’ rainfall is quite healthy, the winter is also likely to experience low down mercury charts. Besides the temperature graph has suddenly dipped all of a sudden ever since the low pressure over Bay of Bengal few days ago leading to quick arrival of winter.

Especially the interior parts of state has been experiencing sudden plummet in mercury with areas of Daringibadi and Phulbani recording temperatures as low as 10 degree Celsius, sources said.

Besides several other cities like Sundergarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Jharsuguda, Bhabanipatna also recorded temperature fall of two to three degree Celsius.

Meanwhile, in the capital, mercury has slumped down below 15 degree Celsius.
