New Delhi: In view of the ensuing Lok Sabha polls, the Centre is making an all out attempt to lure the middleclass voters.

In less than a week after the Prime Minister said that the nation needs to redefine the perception about middle class, the government seems to be working on different policies to woo the middleclass. Prime Minister Modi in an interview had said this recently.

The Centre may in all likelihood dole out income tax benefits in its last Union Budget that is to be presented by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in three weeks.

Sources said the measures include hiking savings limit, tax benefits for pensioners and more concessions on housing loan interest.

The sources said in the last four budgets the Centre has given relief to salaried class as they are the most honest taxpayers of the country.

Sources also indicated that more sops are likely to be included in the coming budget.
