Central team visits Titli-affected Gajapati district


Gajapati: A seven-member Inter-Ministerial Central team led by the secretary of Ministry of Home Affairs SK Shahi, reached Gajapati district on Friday to assess the damage caused by the cyclonic storm Titli.

The team arrived in Odisha yesterday and is slated to submit their assessment report to the Centre soon.

The Central team visited Barghar village in Gangabada panchayat under Rayagad block in the district where around 15 persons were killed in a landslide.

The team is scheduled to hold meetings with senior officials of different departments of the Odisha government at the State Secretariat in Bhubaneswar in the evening.

On thursday, the central team visited the cyclone and flood-affected areas of Patrapur, Surada and Dharakote blocks in Ganjam district and assessed the damage.
