Cattle trafficking busted: Over 200 cows rescued, 50 found dead


Cuttack: The police on Thursday night seized a cattle-laden truck near Khurdha Town police station and rescued over 200 cattle from the vehicle. However, as many as 50 cattle were found dead from the vehicle.

Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted the truck that was trafficking the cattle from Andhra Pradesh to West Bengal through Odisha.

The police after intercepting the vehicle last night conducted search and found about 200 cows and calfs in the vehicle. Reportedly some cattle were also found dead, who died during commute in the cattle-laden truck.
