Calcutta High Court orders CBI probe into Narada sting


Kolkata: The Narada sting operation that allegedly showed some Trinamool Congress leaders accepting bribes will be probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Calcutta High Court ordered on Friday.

A division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Nishita Mhatre and Justice Tapabrata Chakraborty directed the CBI to conclude the probe within 72 hours and “to take custody of the devices and CFSL reports” related to the sting operation within 24 hours.

Narada News had alleged it had many ministers and lawmakers accepting bribe that ranges from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 20 lakh for favours to a fictitious company, Impex Consultancy, as per sources.
