Builder attacked at Ram Mandir square


Bhubaneswar: Four miscreants attacked a city based builder late Wednesday evening near Ram Mandir square. The builder Dinesh Rath is severely injured while his Audi is also damaged.

At around 8 pm in the evening on Wednesday, Dinesh hailing from Ravi Talkies area in the city alongwith one of his friends Suresh Patel parked his Audi car (OD-02-Z-8899) and went inside a star hotel near Ram Mandir square. Meanwhile four miscreants in two bikes arrived at the spot and started damaging the car with hockey sticks and steel rod. Being informed, Dinesh immediately came out of the hotel and resisted the four men. But the miscreants beat Dinesh and his friend furiously.

While Dinesh, injured on the head, fell on the road, the miscreants managed to escape from the spot. On being informed, police immediately rushed to the spot and admitted him to the Capital hospital. But later the condition being critical, he was shifted to a private hospital in the city for treatment.

As per sources, the incident occurred due to past rivalry between Dinesh and another builder named Asish Samal alias Kanha of Patia area in the city. Dinesh in his statement said that Kanha was repeatedly threatening him.

Basing on the statement of Dinesh and the CCTV footage, police has started manhunt to nab the miscreants.
