Bulandshahr: A BSP voter chopped off his finger after mistakenly pressing the button of BJP election symbol on EVM in Bulandshahr constituency on Thursday.
According to reports, the 25-year-old Dalit voter was identified as Pawan Kumar, a supporter of Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party.
Kumar hails from Abdullapur Hulaspur village under Shantipur police station area in Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh.
The incident took place after he had gone to vote in the Shikarpur area of the constituency. He wanted to vote for BSP’s Yogesh Verma but mistakenly voted for the BJP candidate, reports said.
Media reports said he chopped off his finger as soon as he realized that he had voted for BJP mistakenly.
He later released a video that went viral on social media. The video was posted by Kumar to show that he has repented for his act.
