Brahma Parivartan Fiasco: SJTA Serves Second Reminder To Nine Servitors
Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has served a second notice to nine sevayats in the very controversial Brahma Parivartan Fiasco during the Nabakalebara of Lord Jagannath on June 15, 2015.
Two months ago the temple administration has served a show-cause notice to these servitors. However, barring one sevayat, the reply of eight others was not satisfactory.
The SJTA, in its second reminder, has asked nine servitors including eight Daitapatis and one Maharana of Puri Srimandir to furnish a satisfactory reply on the matter to reply within 15 days.
In case of failure, action would be taken against them through an investigation under section 21 (b) of the Jagannath Temple Act, 1955, the notice further warned.
According to the temple rituals, the Brahma Parivartan of the presiding deities was to be performed by the midnight of June 15. However, the rituals were delayed due to in-fighting between the servitors.
Notably, the former SJTA chief administrator had submitted the Brahma Parivartan fiasco report to the SJTA in August 2017. Recently, the SJTA announced that the report on the Brahma Parivartan Fiasco will not be made public even through RTI queries.
