Bombs hurled on BJB College premises in capital city
Bhubaneswar: In yet another incident of pre-poll violence, some unidentified miscreants hurled two low-intensity crude bombs near a girls’ hostel in the BJB College premises on Thursday evening. However, no student was injured.
On being informed, police rushed to spot. ‘Two bombs were recovered from the spot. We have launched a search operation to nab the miscreants involved,” said Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi.
Sources said, one of the bombs hurled at the college did not burst. Additional police force was deployed near the college to avoid further untoward incidents. Meanwhile, residents of the hostel assembled outside the building and demanded robust security measures in the campus in the wake of the incident.
