Bomb threat: Mumbai-Newark flight makes emergency landing in London

London (United Kingdom): The Air India Mumbai-Newark flight has made emergency landing at London’s Stansted airport following a bomb threat,according to reports.

News agencies said on Thursday that the flight landed at the airport at about 10:30 am local time.

Media reports said two jets reportedly escorted the Air India B777 Flight 191 to London Stansted following the bomb threat.

News agencies quoting RAF spokesman said the aircraft was escorted to Stansted. The Typhoons transited at supersonic speed for operational reasons, the spokesman added.

The report said people in Derby experienced a sonic boom this morning.
