Koraput: The state government on Monday placed Boipariguda Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) under suspension over corruption charges.
The officer, identified as Surama Mohapatra, CDPO of Boipariguda, was suspended over irregularities in distribution of free kits and food at Anganwadi centres, harassment of Anganwadi supervisor and other workers.
Taking note of the reports against the officer, the state government took the decision.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has strictly enforced “zero tolerance” policy against corruption.
As per directives of the Chief Minister, the officer found guilty in any corruption will be suspended with immediate effect.
Earlier, as many as 16 officers including 5 headmasters, 4 engineers, 2 revenue inspectors, one pharmacist, one amin, a panchayat executive officer and 2 peons have been suspended till date, sources added.
