Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Wednesday targeted both BJP and its leader Baijayant Panda for allegedly cheating the people of Kendrapara district.
Countering to the double-engine theory of the BJP, the ruling party termed the alleged cheating of Panda and BJP as Double-B cheating. “You have heard of Double-Engine but now its Double-B, Baijayant and BJP,” party spokesperson Sasmit Patra said at a press meet here today.
Referring to its earlier allegations that in 2014 Panda had filed a false election affidavit by suppressing his commercial interests in mining company IMFA, the BJD said now it is proven conclusively that Baijayant Panda cheated the people of Kendrapara.
The BJD questioned why is the BJP silent on such cheating by Panda and still has him as their MP candidate for Kendrapara. “The reason is that both BJP and Baijayant want to cheat the people of Kendrapara,” the party alleged.
“The BJP has not uttered a word about this cheating by Panda. The saffron party which does press meets frequently has gone completely silent on the issue,” the BJD alleged.
The party further questioned why BJP leader and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is also silent and does not open his mouth in this case.
“Because he (Pradhan) is equally worried that if he opens his mouth on the cheating of Panda then his own criminal links and that he is a supporter of criminals like gangster Tito and gangsters D-Brothers will come out in the open,” the ruling party alleged.
“We are confident that the people of Kendrapara will not allow the Double-B (Baijayant and BJP) to cheat them in 2019 and take them for granted,” the BJD added.
