Bhubaneswar: The possibility of the Biju janata Dal (BJD) wiining the Bijepur by-election is getting brighter day by day even as the BJP is leaving no stone unturned with alleged cash power to attract voters.
As out of total 2,10,000 voters in the Bijepur Assembly constituency, more than 50 per cent are farmers, the majority of the voters are aware of the Centre’s apathetic attitude towards State’s proposal to raise the paddy MSP to Rs 2,930. Similarly, on Mahanadi water dispute issue, the BJP has also supported Chhattisgarh and thus taken an anti-Odisha stand.
On the other hand, people’s acceptance towards Naveen-led BJD Government has already been proved by the results of different poll held in the state.
Adding another feather to BJD’s hat, the India Forward Bloc (AIFB), the party founded by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose during the Indian freedom struggle, has unanimously decided to extend unconditional support to BJD candidate Rita Sahu for the Bijepur Assembly by-election “in the greater interests of the State”.
