BJD Councillor Murder: Eight accused persons nabbed by Ganjam Police
Ganjam: In a major breakthrough in the Chhatrapur BJD Councillor Murder case, the Ganjam police today nabbed eight persons for their involvement in the crime.
“Eight accused have been nabbed in connection with the killing of Chhatrapur BJD Councillor Laxmidutta Pradhan”, informed the Ganjam SP.
Notably, a group of men dragged Laxmidutta Pradhan (35), councillor of ward no. 6, out of his house in Chhatrapur and attacked him with sharp weapons. Pradhan was taken to MKCG Medical College and Hospital, where he succumbed to injuries on September 16.
Following the direction of Odisha DGP Dr RP Sharma, three special teams led by the district SP were formed a day after the incident and a manhunt was on to nab the assailants basing on a CCTV footage that recorded the whole incident.
However, it was suspected that past enmity to be the cause of the killing but a thorough investigation is in progress to ascertain the exact reason behind the brutal murder.
