BBC cameraman attacked at Texas rally

Washington: An ardent supporter of US President Donald Trump has attacked a BBC cameraman at a rally in Texas, reports said on Tuesday.

Reports said the man who had donned a  “Make America Great Again” cap, attacked the BBC’s Ron Skeans and other news crews.

He, was however, pulled away by others at the rally at El Paso on Monday night.

The cameraman Skeans said the “very hard shove” came from his blindside. “I didn’t know what was going on.”

Skeans said the man almost knocked him and his camera over twice before he was taken away by others present at the rally.

The US President who noticed the incident confirmed Skeans was well with a thumbs up.

Trump, however, continued his speech after Skeans returned the gesture, the BBC said.

The attacker was drunk, the rally organizers said.

The BBC Washington correspondent Gary O’Donoghue said the attack was “incredibly violent”  and  indicated that it is goading of the crowds against the media.
