Bhubaneswar: The BJD has said Baijayant Panda was the unnamed spokesperson of BJP before and now a formal seal has been given to his position in the saffron party.
In a press note issued by Manas Ranjan Mangaraj, media cell of Biju Janata Dal, it said there is no novelty in the declaration of the saffron party.
Reacting to the question by the media over the appointment of Baijayant Panda, the BJD spokesperson Sasmit Patra said that the former had never quit the party. He was initially suspended and subsequently sacked from BJD for anti-party activities.
Patra said, “The most serious issue is that Panda had not mentioned in the election affidavit that he was receiving a fat salary of Rs 6 crore from a mining company.
“He had kept the information away from the people of Odisha,” Patra said and added that people will give him a befitting reply in the days to come.
