ASI caught taking bribe in Sambalpur

Bhubaneswar: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police in Sambalpur was arrested by the Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday on charges of demanding and accepting bribe from a person to release his vehicle.

The accused has been identified as Kishore Bagh, posted at Sadar police station.

Vigilance sources said, Bagh had demanded Rs 10,000 bribe from one Gurudeb Bhue for releasing his vehicle that was seized by the cops.

On receiving a complaint, the anti-corruption officials laid a trap and caught the police officer red-handed inside the police station while accepting the bribe from Bhue.
