ASI caught red-handed while taking bribe in Nuapada

Nuapada: Vigilance sleuths caught an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of  Sinapali Police Station in Nuapada district while accepting a bribe of Rs 7000.

The ASI was identified as Krishna Ballav Sabar. Officials said Krishna had demanded the bribe from the complainant in order to settle a case.

Acting on the complaint, anti-corrupting wing officials laid a trap and caught him red-handed while accepting the gratification from the complainant. The officials also seized the bribe money from his possession.

A case has been registered against the accused ASI and investigations are on, Vigilance officials said.
