Jharsuguda: In yet another armed robbery, miscreants barged into a businessman’s house at Bagdihi under Laikera police limits and looted valuables worth lakhs including cash.
According to reports, more than 10 unidentified men armed with sharp weapons entered into the house of one Shyam Agarwal, a businessman, by pulling down the window of the ‘Puja’ room in the wee hours of Thursday.
The robbers then tied up Agarwal and his wife to the bed and managed to get the locker keys by threatening the couple with sharp weapons. The miscreants then ransacked the whole bedroom and made away with ornaments including four gold chains, 10 gold rings and some cash from the lockers.
Laikera Police registered a case (98/19) on the basis of a complaint made by the victim and launched a probe into the incident.
Reportedly, the Superintendent of Police Ashwini Kumar Mohanty, SDPO Kailash Acharya and Laikera IIC Biswapati Panda have investigated the crime scene.
The victims have told the police that the robbers were talking in Gujarati and Sadri (a dialect) languages and looted cash and valuables to the tune of Rs 8-10 lakhs. However, the investigating officers are yet to find a lead in this case of armed robbery.
