New Delhi: Arjun Tendulkar, son of cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, has been selected in India’s Under-19 team that is scheduled to tour Sri Lanka next month.
The Under-19 team will play two four-day matches and five ODIs in Sri Lanka. Arjun has only been named in the side that will play the four-day games.
Delhi wicketkeeper-batsman Anuj Rawat will lead the four-day squad while Uttar Pradesh’s Aryan Duyal has been named the captain of the one-day squad.
The 18-year-old Arjun is a left-arm medium pacer and a left-hand batsman. He was part of a group of 25 U-19 cricketers who were in Dharamsala in April this year for a month-long camp.
Arjun has often been seen practicing in the Indian cricket team’s nets, even having a hit with his illustrious father in India and abroad. The left-handed middle-order batsman and left-arm medium pacer bowler have been playing for his stateside Mumbai consistently for the past few years.
