Another PIL filed in Orissa HC demanding CBI probe into Kunduli gang rape case

Cuttack: While police have failed to identify the culprits of Kunduli minor girl gang rape case in Koraput district after a week of the incident, another public interest litigation (PIL), seeking CBI probe into the case was filed in Orissa High Court today.

Bharatiya Vikas Parishad, a non-profit organization, filled the PIL in which it made the BSF DIG a party and demanded to bring the working BSF jawans under the purview of investigation.

On Monday, a PIL was filed in the High Court seeking a CBI or NIA probe into the gang rape of the minor girl. Odisha Home Secretary, DGP, Koraput SP, NIA DG and CBI SP were made parties in the case.

Meanwhile, the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) today sought a report from South-Western Range DIG on the detention of four suspects by October 20.

The gang rape of a Class IX student had triggered tension in the district after the victim alleged that four persons in the uniform of security personnel forcibly sexually assaulted her on October 10.
