Anganwadi Workers Thank Naveen For Enhanced Monthly Pay, Other Sops


Bhubaneswar: Expressing delight at the announcement of hike in honorarium by the Odisha Government, Anganwadi workers today thanked Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at his residence here.

Hundreds of Anganwadi workers and helpers thronged Naveen Niwas and thanked Patnaik for fulfilling their demands of hike in monthly salary and other sops.

Notably, the Odisha CM on January 12 announced a major hike in the honorarium of Anganwadi workers and helpers working under the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS).

As per the announcement, the salary of Anganwadi workers has been increased to Rs 7500 from existing Rs 6000. Similarly, the mini Anganwadi workers will now get a monthly salary of Rs 5375 from existing Rs 4125. Moreover, the salary of helpers has been enhanced to Rs 3,750 from existing Rs 3,000. The revised salary will be effective retrospectively from October 1, 2018.
