Washington: All eyes are riveted on China ahead of crucial United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on the decision of JeM chief Masood Azhar as global terrorist.
The UNSC on Wednesday will make a crucial decision on designating Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Masood Azhar as an international terrorist.
The US, meanwhile , has said that there was enough evidence to designate Azhar as a global terrorist. Those who are not doing this will be responsible for destabilizing regional peace and security.
It is worthwhile to mention here that a number of attempts by the permanent members of UNSC-US, France and Britain-have been thwarted by China.
The latest UNSC resolution has been moved by its permanent members in the wake of India’s diplomatic efforts in the wake of the February 14 Pulwama attack.
China has been vetoing the matter as Pakistan is its strong ally. The Chinese rely heavily on the Pakistanis for pursuing their interest in trade and commerce in the Indian subcontinent.
JeM is founded and headed by Azhar which is responsible for a number of attacks in India including the 2001 attack on Parliament, Pathankot air base, attack on an Army camp in Uri and the most recent in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir.
