Panjim: Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar who has been ailing for sometime has made a rare public appearance putting to rest on speculations.
He has inspected the construction of Zuari Bridge in Panjim and a half-constructed bridge on Mandovi River.
Parrikar has been suffering from a pancreatic ailment.
The 63-year-old Parrikar has been in and out of hospitals in Mumbai, US, and Delhi since mid-February. He had been recuperating at his residence in Panjim since October 14.
An official of the chief minister’s office said that the CM travelled approximately 6 km from Porvorim to Merces to conduct the inspection of the third bridge over Mandovi.
The bridge is likely to be completed by next year and will connect Panaji to the rest of north Goa.
