African lion dies in Nandankanan
Bhubaneswar: The number of lions in Nandankanan Zoological Park here reduced to 13 with death of an eight-year-old African male lion on Friday.
The lion breathed its last while undergoing treatment at the veterinary hospital in the zoo after it fell sick this morning.
The cause of the death will be ascertained after post-mortem and the authorities concerned have contacted the Centre for Wildlife Health, OUAT, for the same.
Out of the total 13 lions present in the zoo, six are male and seven female.
