Bhubaneswar: The State Government has taken initiatives to provide CT scan service to patients free of cost through the Nidan scheme at nine District Headquarters Hospitals (DHH), Health and Family Welfare Minister Pratap Jena informed this in the State Assembly in response to a question of BJD MLA Ranendra Pratap Swain on Thursday.
DHH of Angul, Baleswar, Balangir, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Keonjhar, Kalahandi, Koraput, Sundargrh and the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar will provide free CT scan service under the scheme.
Jena further informed that steps have been taken to provide MRI Scan service free of cost at four DHHs located at Angul, Baleswar, Puri and Mayurbhanj on PPP mode.
Now, CT scan service is provided to patients free of cost at the SCB Medical College Hospital, Cuttack and the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research at Burla. Similarly, MRI Scan service is being provided free of cost at the SCBMCH, VSSIMSAR and the MKCG Medical College Hospital at Brahmapur.
The Minister informed that private hospitals are charging fees for the above services at the rate fixed by the Central Government and the State Government is regulating charges of private hospitals through its Clinical Establishment (Control and Regulation) Amendment Act.
