Bargarh: As many as seven persons were reported injured as an under-construction bridge collapsed over Jira river in Bargarh district, a fortnight after the Bomikhal flyover collapse in Odisha capital that had killed one person and injured several.
The injured have been admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital.
According to reports, the mishap occurred over Jira river under Bheden block in the district while installation of a slab of the bridge was going on. It was being constructed by the Rural Development Department under Biju Setu Yojana.
Bargarh Collector Khagendra Kumar Padhi rushed to the hospital to inquire about the health condition of the injured persons and ordered a probe into the incident.
