Nairobi: Seven children were killed and at least 57 injured after the walls of a classroom collapsed on Ngong Road in western Nairobi here on Monday.

As per reports, the classroom at the Precious Talent School, a two-storey building was made of wood and metal panels collapsed around 7:00 AM today.

Soon after the mishap, emergency services and neighbours helped in rescuing the children.

All the injured children were rushed to the Kenyatta National Hospital.

The school’s owner, Moses Wainaina, said the tragedy was an “accident” but blamed municipal workers for recent sewer works that he said had weakened the building’s foundations, informed sources.
